A Book and a Hammock

Sunday afternoons were a highlight of my week when I was younger. My mom would pick out a book to read, take me with her to the hammock and would start reading the book aloud. Those afternoons created a bond for my mom and me. Reading with her always left me with a warm feeling inside. When my mom was battling cancer, we both sought solace in continuing the habit. This time, I was the one reading aloud to her.

I lost mom 20 years ago but I still miss her. I still seek out the hammock when I am overwhelmed with sorrow. The hammock has brought me so much comfort the past 20 years and it still does.

Join me as I go through the books my mom and I have read. I hope you enjoy them as I have.
